pile of files

The bundle is the complete set of documents the tribunal will use to make a decision about your appeal.
It includes all evidence from:

  • you (parent or carer)
  • the local authority (LA)

The tribunal only uses documents included in the bundle.
If something important is missing, it may not be considered — so checking it carefully is essential.

What may happen

  1. the tribunal instructs the LA to prepare the bundle by a certain date
  2. the LA collects all documents, including:
    • your appeal form
    • their response
    • all evidence submitted by both sides
  3. the LA sends the bundle to you and to the tribunal
  4. you shoud check the bundle carefully to make sure everything is included and up to date
  5. if anything is missing or incorrect, you must tell the LA and tribunal straight away

Key timescales

  • the LA must send the bundle by the date given on your registration letter
